Don’t Forget to Vote TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8th Charlevoix County Transit offers FREE rides to all polling locations for all local, State and Federal elections for anyone in need of transportation.
Veteran’s Day for Charlevoix Veterans This year, the County Transit System and the Commission on Aging are again working together for our seniors that have served. On Veteran’s Day (Friday, November 11th), they will be providing FREE rides for Senior Veterans to any of the 3 mainland Senior Centers to receive a FREE lunch! They should bring their veteran ID card, or a means of identifying themselves as a Veteran. If you know any senior veteran in the area, please let them know that Charlevoix County would like to provide them with this small token for all that they have given for the freedom of all Charlevoix County residents.
SINGLE PUBLIC ENTRANCE Due to the increased need for security and safety in governmental buildings everywhere, Charlevoix County has begun implenting many new steps and measures as well. In addition to improving and strengthening our security monitoring systems and upgrading many doors and window areas, we have also moved to a single point of entry for the public. Conveniently located adjacent to the public parking lot at "the back" of the County Building, the large double doored vestibule is now our single entrance for public use. Although some may find the main entrance (which these doors have always been) a little farther from a particular office than when you previously parked on a side street and entered other doors, we hope everyone can appreciate the role we take in protecting the safety and security of not only you the public, but that of our staff and officials as well.
