Charlevoix Conservation District
Community Outreach Programs
Annual Tree Sale
The Conservation District works with other Districts and
nurseries in Michigan to assist landowners with
backyard conservation efforts through our annual tree
and plant sale. Tree sale information is available as soon
as January and orders are accepted until supplies are
sold out. Our tree pick up date is always the last weekend
in April. For more information please call the office or
click on our Tree Sale link.
Tree Sale forms are available as early as January & trees are available
until we run out. Contact our office to be put on the mailing list so you
receive your form as soon as possible.
Beachgrass Harvest Days
District beachgrass harvests occur twice per year,
each spring and fall. The beachgrass is locally grown
at our nursery located south of Charlevoix. Local
school groups and Volunteers assist with our efforts.
For more information on our beachgrass, please call the
office, or click on our Beachgrass Link.
Charlevoix 6th Grade students, along with NCMC biology students
volunteer for a spring beachgrass harvest.
In an effort to connect younger generations with conservation,
the district hosts this event during its annual tree sale weekend
(Last Saturday in April). Several local conservation partners
co-host the event and provide information and hands-on
activities for kids. Donations are appreciated to assist the
district's community outreach efforts. Click on the "Kids Corner"
link above to go to the Tree Sale page for more details on this
conservation event for kids.
