Equipment for Rent

As a service to the citizens of Charlevoix County, the Charlevoix Conservation District provides the following equipment for rent.

This slick piece of equipment was built by Larry Kaylor of KAYLOR WELDING SERVICES.

It has a 3-point hitch and is pulled by a tractor. A large tub sits in front of a comfortable yellow seat. The large disc in front slices the ground, followed by a plow shoe which opens the soil for tree placement. A cement packer wheel follows close behind to close and firm the soil. A handy clicker signals when the spacing is appropriate for the next tree. A 40 horse power tractor will pull the planter through very soft soil. If your planting site doesn't meet this condition, you will need a larger tractor (80-100 hp).

The rental rate is $50 per day.

This John Deere 7000, 4 row corn planter is available for rent.

Rental rates:
Minimum charge $25.00 if used on less than 4 acres
Charlevoix County $7.50 per acre
Outside Charlevoix County $8.50 acre
A $100 deposit is required outside Charlevoix County.
If you are unable to pick up the corn planter yourself, arrangements can be made to have it delivered (additional charges will apply).

Please refer to the Corn Planter Rental Agreement for more specific information. If you would like to rent the planter, complete the rental agreement and submit to the Charlevoix Conservation District Office, 303 North Street, Boyne City, MI 49712.
