Cemeteries
|
Chandler Township owns and maintains two cemeteries. The Gallop Cemetery
is the larger of the two at 2 acres, and is located on Magee Road. The
Howard Cemetery is one acre and is located at the corner of Chandler
Road and Matz Road, across from the township hall.
The township is in the process of marking and mapping both cemeteries.
The Howard Cemetery is completed and work is being completed on the
Gallop Cemetery. Plots are available to residents, contact the township
clerk for availability and cost.
For the genealogy buffs, we hope to inventory both cemeteries and list
on this page some of the names of residents that are buried here. As
time permits, we will be adding these so please check back. The township
has also done some extensive research during the bicentennial and has
information of this area and it's residents around the turn of the century.
