What We Do:
We are responsible for the oversight and day-to-day operations of Charlevoix County's technological infrastructure, networking, communications and database applications. Our IT operation includes all hardware, software, ancillary devices, fiberoptic and wired connectivities just to name a few. Our GIS, or geographic information systems, refers to all of the data and information retained by the County, pertaining to "within the geographic boundaries" of Charlevoix County. This includes all databases of information and their storage, utilization, and application for county government purpose and need.
When viewing our parcel layer (all property boundaries) on our mapping application or any maps generated from this data, please be aware:
**There is a plus or minus 30' margin for error on ALL parcel lines. This photography is NOT meant to distinguish any legal boundary, CANNOT be used in place of a survey, and cannot be used for any legal representation of property lines.**
2015 saw several changes to our department, and as a result, some previous tasks and duties have been reconfigured or reassigned. Please see below regarding standard requests previously handled through this department.
