The Charlevoix County Transit System provides public transportation throughout the County and Beaver Island.
Transport to Beaver Island can be arranged through ferry service or charter air carrier (also with regular daily flights). Links to these services providing their operating schedules are provided for you below. Regular ferry service (both passenger and car) is only available from April through December. Ice conditions on Lake Michigan sometimes permit crossings as needed during the early and late winter months. During the winter months, air service is the only way to reach the Island.
The Charlevoix County Transporation Authority maintains the Ironton Ferry service crossing the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix. Please visit the link below to note fares and operating times.
